What is the comic/site about?: DMFA (Dan and Mab’s Furry Adventures) is a comic with its roots in a Role Playing Games called Furcadia. In this world, populated by furries, humans are mythical beings. It starts out following the hijinks surrounding Dan, a semi-retired adventurer, Miss Mab, a charmingly flakey fae, and the denizens in and around the Lost Lake Inn (owned by Dan’s step-sister, Alexsi. It’s mostly comedic, but develops good story lines and adventures for the main characters. DMFA is among one of the earlier web comics to hit the net and is going strong.
Suitability: Teens and up – hints at adult situations, nudity, roughness
What do you like about the comic or site?: Normally, I’m not into furry stuff, But this is one of my long-standing favorites. The characters and motivations start out relatable and stay consistent. It’s rich with background and drama and touches on many social issues over time. I particularly like the story-lines revolving around Dan’s arch-enemy, Dark Pegasus who keeps getting resurrected in spite of Dan’s efforts to do away with him for good, eventually leading to an awkward family moment.
Art Style:: Colored Line Art
How good/consistent is the art?: Attractive/Engaging
Frequency of Updates (typically): Several a week (2-4 times)
I love this comic (1 best to 5 still good): 2 – Silver Star
Closing/Clarifying Comments: I’m going to call out Wildy (where have I heard that name before?) the slightly psychotic feret as one of my favorite characters. Even her crime syndicate boss brother has the sense to fear her.
